About me: I am currently a postdoctoral scholar in Electrical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology, working with Prof. Jehoshua Bruck. I received my Ph.D. from UIUC in 2013, where I worked with Prof. Olgica Milenkovic. I also received an M.Sc. in mathematics from UIUC in 2012 and an M.Sc. in ECE from the University of Toronto.

My interests include information theory, bioinformatics/computational biology, and machine learning. I particularly gravitate towards problems that lie in the intersections of these areas, such as ordinal data fusion and its application to gene prioritization, mathematical and information-theoretic modeling of DNA mutations, compression of biological sequences, and sorting algorithms for large data streams. I also work on rank modulation codes for flash memories with higher data density, faster reprogramming, and longer life span.
